Yes. All you have to do is load their Card through on-line means (example, using our Website or Mobile App, using our Card-to-Card transfer feature, or using your Bank’s on-line/telephone/mobile app feature). They will get the funds on their Card, which they can use to shop, or make purchases Worldwide (anywhere that accepts VISA), all at NO CHARGE to either you, or them. Please note that while there are no charges from Lenders, some Banks may charge you to use their on-line/telephone/mobile apps and features.
When Subscribers apply for and receive the Discount Plus Card, they have to pay an activation fee of CDN$10 before they can use the card. The activation fee is deducted when you first load funds onto the Card and is required to activate the Card.
Yes. There is an annual activation fee of CDN$10. Also, the Lenders Group Discount Plus Card expires after three years. After year three, a new card will be issued to you. At that time, the renewal/activation fee is rolled into one charge of CDN$10.
There are NO FEES associated with using your Card for PURCHASES at our Discount Partners or other Retailers. However, cash transactions carry a fee. There are fees for withdrawing CASH with your Card at ATMs. There are also fees for withdrawing/loading CASH with your card at our Discount Partners that participate in the Lenders Group Remittance Program Worldwide as follows: Up to the first CDN$250, the fee is CDN$5.50 per transaction. Over CDN$250 and up to CDN$500, the fee is CDN$7 per transaction. Over CDN$500, the fee is CDN$10 per transaction. Fees may be higher for using the Banks’ ATMs. A fee is also charged if you transfer funds from your Lenders Card to any Bank Account, or other (Non-Lenders) credit/debit card. Our Banking Partners foreign exchange rates are used for international money conversions.
Yes. You can get and use the Lenders Group Discount Plus Card no matter where you live, anywhere in the World, under provisions of Canadian laws and the Laws of your Jurisdiction.
No. In fact, many People, such as Seniors and People who live in remote areas that lack the convenience of a traditional Bank, use the Card as an alternative to Bank Accounts. Seniors love the fact that it is not tied directly to their Accounts (Bank), thereby limiting the risk of losing huge sums of money from their life savings and many Farmers, for example, living in remote areas without Banks, find it quite convenient to use our card.
The card has an on-line, re-loadable limit equivalent to CDN$2500 daily. You can also re-load the Card with cash, up to a maximum CDN$1000 daily, at some of our Discount Partners who participate in the Remittance Program. There is an overall Card re-load limit of CDN$10,000 monthly. A daily cash limit equivalent to CDNS1000 can be withdrawn from ATMs and some of our Discount Partners who participate in the Remittance Program, while on-line and point-of-sale (POS) purchases have a daily limit equivalent to CDN$2500.
